Artists Gallery - Carol Kovacs

Artist's Biography:
My interest in art began in childhood watching my commercial artist father draw pen and ink illustrations for a hardware catalog. He had horse bridles hanging in our living room.
Growing up, I was expected to be an artist for high school posters, stage settings, and yearbooks. In college, I got a BS in ED with a minor in ART. Years of workshops and seminars followed with the most recent classes at the Univ. of New Mexico.
After many opportunities to try all types of media from oils, silk screen, and block prints, to pastels, watercolors, and acrylics, I have moved from miniature 2" squares to very large wall murals. My family and friends have asked me to decorate all kinds of surfaces for gifts and home décor.
In the 1980’s I began a recycling effort by painting on slate roofing tiles from a pre-Civil War barn in Ohio. Most of those were western themes of horses, Indians, and scenery.
My work has hung in shows and galleries from Ohio to New Mexico. Purchases have gone to New York residences and even as far as Argentina.
