Artist's Statement:
I can't visualize myself doing anything else but using my imagination and creating art. My journey in art began over 40 years ago. I quit my job as a secretary and two weeks later opened an arts and crafts store. Through my store, I was introduced to the world of tole and decorative painting.
A paint brush ignited a passion inside me. That enthusiasm led me to seek out a fine arts education which continues to this day. I use and study a wide variety of mediums, including oil, acrylic, watercolor, and most recently pastel. I am like a kid in a candy store--why choose one when I can savor them all? Sometimes my appetite to produce art becomes overpowering. I am compelled by my love of color and the sheer joy of creating something that is of me.
Art, at its core, is spiritual. I relish the challenge. I desire the accomplishment. I revel in the joy of imagination.
I begin a piece by seeing.
I recognize the piece is done when I like it.
I wish for those who view my work to smile.
Art is the only sure way I know how to express myself and here I am truly with my God and myself.

Artist's Biography:
Carolyn's career in the art and decorative painting field spans over 40 years. She teaches painting and owns a custom painting business. She will paint anything from a wall in your home, a canvas on your wall or the smallest knick-knack adorning your shelves. Most recently she is venturing into creating finger and outdoor labyrinths.
