Artists Biography:

Douglas W. Overman (D.W.) has been interested in art for as long as he can remember. When he was a very small child, he watched his mother paint a picture for the bapistry in the First Baptist Church of Happy, Texas, and he has been drawing and doodling ever since.

He began lessons in oil in the early 70s, having participated in classes conducted by several well-known artists. He prefers painting and drawing pictures with a western influence, He has also painted with acrylics and watercolors, but preferred oil over other media..that is, until he was introduced to pencils by one of the members in the McKinney Art Club.

When he became serious about painting, he became interested in photography and enrolled in a photography cass at the local community college in Big Spring. He photographed many brides and weddings as well as ittle league sports teams before he decided to just take pictures of subjects he truly enjoys.
