The Art Club Christmas Party
The Heard-Craig House, built in 1900, is one of the most beautifully preserved historic homes in North Texas, which is always decorated beautifully for the season.
The house contains breathtaking stained glass, original furnishings, personal belongings, family heirlooms, and art collected by the Heard and Craig families.
Also, if you wish, participate in the Silent Night Auction that will be set up in the Carriage House. Bring something you no longer want or need, but that someone else would love to have. Then you can bid on the items you would like to purchase. Highest bidder on each item takes it home. Not sure what to bring? Here's a few ideas: nice used frames and/or mats, a stack of art magazines that are clutter to you but inspiration to someone else, interesting mugs, unique jewelry, holiday notecards, handthrown pottery, gift certificates ... you get the idea!

The Art Club of McKinney, founded in 1914 in McKinney, Texas, was created to encourage the appreciation of visual art in the community. Nearly 100 years later, the club continues to support this goal with:
- monthly meetings for members and visitors
- lectures on art topics
- demonstrations and workshops of various media and techniques
- art shows for adults and children
- organized visits to museums and gallery exhibits
- field trips to “paint outside the gallery”
- directory of local artists
- online gallery for art club members
Monthly Meetings
The Art Club of McKinney meets at
the Heard-Craig Gallery, 306 North Church Street, McKinney, Texas, on the 2nd Thursday of each month, August through May. The business meeting starts at 9:30 am and the program starts at 10 am.
The program generally includes a presentation/demo by a visiting artist and, after a brief lunch break, a workshop taught by the visiting artist.
Light refreshments and time to socialize are available at the beginning, middle, and/or end of each meeting.
Each artist is invited to bring a piece of their work for members to enjoy and vote on. The winner receives a gift certificate and is featured on this page.

The January Art Club meeting will feature a program by Rusty Jones, well-known plein air oil painter.
Rusty will conduct a workshop after lunch from 1pm-4pm on Thursday the 12th, and continue the workshop the following day, Friday the 13th, from 9am-4pm.
The cost of the workshop is $100, and we need 6 people to have the workshop. Contact Patricia Crain to sign up.
