Join us at our monthly Art Club meeting. Club business will be conducted from 9:30am-10am followed by the program at 10 am. As usual guests are welcome to join us.

The February Art Club meeting will feature a program by Janis Krendick, pastel artist extraordinaire. Her interest in art goes back to childhood. In college she received a minor in studio art. She has worked in a number of media over the years, the last several years concentrating on pastel.

Janis donated this pastel of Eaton Canyon outside Pasadena. The Art Club will have a drawing for this painting. Tickets will be $10 each.

Mini Art Show
We will have a Mini Art Show at this meeting, so bring a work of art to enter. The Mini Art Show is a venue for artists to show their art work at the monthly meeting and the members vote on the art they like. The 1st place winner receives a $25 gift certificate from Asel's Art Supply, and the 2nd place winner receives a $15 gift certificate from Asel's Art Supply. Each member may win 2 prizes during this club year.

Collin County Student Art Show - Call to Artists

The Collin County Student Art Show will be accepting entries Feb 22, 2012, at the MPAC (McKinney Performing Arts Center) from 4:00 pm - 8:00 pm. The contest is open to all currently registered High School students in Collin County, Texas.

The Collin County Student Art Show will be open to the public at the McKinney Performing Arts Center (MPAC), Feb. 23, 2012, 2pm-9pm, and Feb. 24-25, 2012, 10am-9pm. The show is sponsored by The Art Club of McKinney and funded in part by the City of McKinney through the City of McKinney Arts Commission.

There will be a silent auction in conjunction with the Student Art Show. The auction will help cover money for prizes and expenses incurred putting on the show. If you have something you would like to donate for the auction, please contact Cindy at 214-457-0903. The Art Club of McKinney is a non-profit organization, so all donations are tax deductible.
